Google review signs for independent pharmacies

3 October 2026 · 4 min read
An independent pharmacy wins customers on things a chain cannot match: knowing names, answering questions, getting a prescription ready faster. Those are exactly the things that show up in reviews — if anyone is asked.
Which counter
Put it at the front register, where people pay for everyday items, rather than at the prescription pickup window. Customers at the front are relaxed and in no hurry. Someone collecting a new prescription may not be in the mood.
A note on privacy
Asking for a review is fine. Replying is where pharmacies need care. Under US health-privacy rules (HIPAA), a reply must not confirm that someone is a customer of the pharmacy or mention anything about their care, even if they raised it themselves.
Keep replies general: thank them, and invite them to call the store about anything specific.
What patients mention
Short waits, a pharmacist who explained something clearly, a refill sorted out over the phone. These are the reasons people switch from a chain, and reviews that say so do your marketing for you.
Questions, answered
- Can staff ask patients to review?
- Yes, as long as the ask is the same for everyone and nothing is offered in return.
- Is the sign hygienic at a pharmacy counter?
- The tap is contact-free — the phone only needs to come close — and the stand wipes clean with a disinfectant wipe.
