Google review signs for hotels and short-term rentals

Hotel guests are asked for reviews by everyone: the booking platform, the follow-up email, the survey. A sign in the room works because it is the only ask that arrives while the stay is still good.
The desk in the room, and the desk at checkout
In the room, a small stand next to the kettle or on the desk gets read during the quiet half hour before departure. At reception, a stand at the checkout desk catches the guest who is leaving happy and has two minutes while the bill prints.
Google reviews are not the same as your booking-site score
Your Booking.com or Airbnb score lives on their platform. Your Google reviews are what someone sees when they search your name — including guests who intend to book direct next time, which is the cheapest booking you will ever take.
Short-term rentals: put it by the door
In a rental with no staff, the sign is the ask. A small card by the door with the house rules, or on the welcome tray, catches guests during the tidy-up before they leave.
Questions, answered
- Will guests review twice, on Google and the platform?
- Some will. They are different audiences: one helps future platform bookings, the other helps everyone who searches your name.
- Is a sign in every room worth it?
- For small properties, yes. For larger ones, start with reception and the ten rooms with the best views.
