Google review signs for gyms and studios

Gyms have more chances to ask than anyone — every member walks past reception several times a week — and almost all of them waste it by asking at the wrong moment.
After a class, not on the way in
Arriving members are in a hurry and often late. Leaving members, especially straight after a class they enjoyed, are in the best mood they will be in all day. Put the sign where people leave the studio, not where they scan in.
Let instructors do the asking
A class instructor thanking the room and adding "if you enjoyed it, there is a tap-to-review sign by the door" outperforms any poster. It is a person asking, which is the only kind of ask that works.
Reviews that mention the class
Gyms compete on specifics — the 6am spin class, the physio-led rehab, the free weights area. Reviews naming those things pull in the people searching for them, which is worth more than another generic "great gym".
Questions, answered
- Should new members be asked?
- Wait until they have been a few times. A review from someone two months in carries detail that a first-day review cannot.
- What about personal trainers without a gym?
- A card in the kit bag works: ask at the end of a session the client is pleased with.
